A Light for Learning.A Foundation for Life.

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy exists to help students discover the joy of learning, understand that they are loved by Jesus, and grow into thoughtful, confident young people prepared to live with faith and purpose.

Why Lighthouse Exists

A Christ-Centered Education That Transforms

The mission of Lighthouse Private Christian Academy is to inspire students to have a love and joy for learning, for a lifetime, by providing a transformational, Christ-centered education.

At Lighthouse, faith is not separated from learning. It shapes how we teach, how we encourage students, how we respond to challenges, and how we treat one another.

We want students to grow academically while also developing character, responsibility, compassion, perseverance, and an understanding of their God-given value.

Every student should know they are loved, capable of growth, and created for a purpose.

What Guides Us

Faith That Shapes the Whole Student

Lighthouse seeks to produce graduates who know they are loved by Jesus and are prepared to model Christlike character in their education, their homes, their work, and their communities.

Loved by Jesus

Students are reminded that their value is not determined by a grade, a performance, or a difficult season. Each student is worthy of care, dignity, patience, and encouragement.

Joyful in Learning

We want students to develop curiosity, confidence, and a lasting love for learning—not simply complete assignments or prepare for a test.

Growing in Character

Honesty, kindness, responsibility, perseverance, humility, and respect are essential parts of preparing students for life.

Prepared With Purpose

Students are encouraged to recognize their gifts, make wise choices, serve others, and prepare for the opportunities God places before them.

Faith in Action

More Than a Lesson—A Way of Living

A Christ-centered education is reflected in everyday moments: how a teacher encourages a struggling student, how classmates learn to respect one another, how victories are handled with humility, and how mistakes become opportunities for growth.

In the Classroom

Students learn within an educational environment that recognizes God's truth, encourages thoughtful questions, and connects knowledge with wisdom, responsibility, and purpose.

In Relationships

Lighthouse promotes positive discipline, respectful communication, forgiveness, compassion, and the understanding that every person should be treated with dignity.

In Leadership and Service

Students are encouraged to use their abilities to help others, contribute to their school community, lead with integrity, and become a positive light wherever life takes them.

Faith becomes meaningful when students learn how to live it.

A Caring School Community

Students Grow Best When They Know They Belong

Children learn differently, mature at different rates, and carry different strengths and challenges. Lighthouse seeks to provide a safe, nurturing environment where students are known as individuals and encouraged to keep moving forward.

Our teachers combine clear expectations with positive discipline and personal encouragement. Students are challenged to take responsibility for their choices while receiving the guidance they need to learn from mistakes and grow.

Known

Students should feel seen, heard, and valued.

Guided

Students need caring adults who provide structure, encouragement, and honest direction.

Challenged

Students are expected to grow academically, personally, and spiritually.

Our Beginning

A School Created to Bring Hope

Lighthouse began in the aftermath of Hurricane Ivan in 2004, when families throughout Northwest Florida were rebuilding their homes, routines, and sense of stability.

In the middle of that difficult season, Lighthouse's founder, Dr. Joanna Johannes, felt called to create a school where children could learn in a healing, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment.

“Lighthouse began as an answer to a community's need—and a calling to serve its children.”

What began with a small group of children grew into a larger school family serving students across Pensacola, Gulf Breeze, and Milton. The campuses and programs have grown, but the purpose remains the same: care for students, support families, inspire learning, and help children recognize that their lives have meaning.

School and Home

Walking Beside Families

A school has an important role in a child's development, but it does not replace the influence of the family or the family's church. Lighthouse seeks to work alongside parents and guardians by providing consistent guidance, clear communication, academic support, and a Christ-centered school environment.

Families do not need to have every answer before contacting Lighthouse. A campus conversation can help parents understand the school's mission, expectations, educational approach, and whether Lighthouse may be the right fit for their student.

Prepared for What Comes Next

Learning With Purpose.Living With Faith.

Lighthouse students may follow different paths after graduation—college, dual enrollment, skilled trades, military service, athletics, employment, ministry, or another calling. Whatever direction they pursue, we want them to carry forward knowledge, discipline, compassion, courage, and faith.

The goal is not simply to help students finish school. It is to help them become young adults who understand that their choices matter, their gifts have value, and their lives can make a difference.
