More Than a Title

What Does Accreditation Mean?

Accreditation is an independent quality-review process. It examines how a school carries out its mission, supports student learning, maintains responsible leadership, protects student well-being, and plans for continued growth.

For Lighthouse families, accreditation provides added confidence that the school is willing to be evaluated, held accountable, and continually strengthened.

Accreditation is not a one-time award. It represents an ongoing commitment to review, accountability, and improvement.

Confidence for Families

The Value of an Accredited Christian Education

Choosing a school is a deeply personal decision. Accreditation gives families an additional measure of confidence by showing that Lighthouse’s educational program and operations are reviewed against established standards.

Academic Quality

Accreditation supports a structured approach to curriculum, instruction, assessment, and student progress.

Responsible Leadership

Lighthouse is expected to maintain clear policies, responsible governance, qualified leadership, and sound educational practices.

Student Well-Being

The accreditation process considers the learning environment, student support, safety, and the school’s ability to serve its students responsibly.

Continuous Improvement

Accreditation encourages Lighthouse to evaluate its work, identify opportunities for growth, and strengthen the student experience over time.

Accreditation supports confidence in a school’s educational program. Admission, credit acceptance, and transfer decisions are ultimately determined by the receiving school, college, university, or other institution.

External Accountability

Accreditation and Recognition

Lighthouse values independent review because strong schools remain willing to learn, evaluate, and improve. Our accreditation relationships help provide an external framework for quality, accountability, and long-term growth.

Accredited Member School

Christian Schools of Florida

Christian Schools of Florida supports and accredits Christian schools that are committed to educational quality, professional growth, spiritual purpose, and continuous improvement.

State Review & Scholarships

Step Up for Students & FL DOE Review

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy commits to the annual review by the Florida Department of Education for accredited schools that receive Step Up for Students scholarships. This independent state review reinforces our ongoing commitment to accountability and to serving our families with integrity.

Ongoing Commitment to Accountability

Lighthouse welcomes independent review and continues to strengthen its academic standards, operations, and student experience. For the most current status, official accreditor names, recognition, and supporting documentation, families are encouraged to contact Lighthouse directly.

Contact Lighthouse

Lighthouse does not imply that membership in an association is the same as direct accreditation. Statements regarding accreditation, recognition, and membership reflect verified, current relationships. Step Up for Students scholarship eligibility and approved-school status are determined independently by Step Up for Students and the Florida Department of Education.

Purpose Behind the Standard

Faith and Excellence Belong Together

At Lighthouse, Christian education is more than adding Bible instruction to the school day. Faith shapes how students are taught, encouraged, challenged, and prepared to serve others.

Accreditation supports this mission by asking Lighthouse to clearly define its purpose, evaluate how well that purpose is being fulfilled, and remain accountable for the quality of the student experience.

Faithful Purpose

We seek to help students grow academically while developing character, responsibility, and a stronger foundation in faith.

Thoughtful Instruction

Our teachers guide students through structured learning while recognizing that children grow in different ways and at different rates.

Prepared for the Future

Students are encouraged to develop the knowledge, discipline, confidence, and practical skills needed for their next step.

Our Promise to Families

A School That Keeps Moving Forward

Accreditation matters because families deserve more than promises. They deserve a school that is willing to examine its work, answer to established standards, and keep improving for the students it serves.

Lighthouse remains committed to strong academics, Christ-centered guidance, meaningful student opportunities, responsible leadership, and a school culture where students are known and encouraged.

“We do not pursue excellence simply for recognition. We pursue it because every student entrusted to Lighthouse deserves our best.”
